Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Kimberley, BC (In-Office, Flexible Days)

Hourly Rate: $25-$28/hour (Based on experience and education)

About Us:
We are a group of restaurants in Kimberley, BC, and we are looking for a skilled and reliable Contract Bookkeeper to join our team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have the necessary education and experience to handle our financial needs while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records and ledgers for all restaurants.

  • Prepare, review, and process invoices, bills, and payments.

  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial records.

  • Assist with payroll processing and employee benefits.

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Prepare detailed monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow.

  • Assist with year-end tax preparation and liaise with external accountants.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.

  • Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Accounting, CPA, or equivalent).

  • Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation through the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) is an asset.

  • Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks is a MUST

  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet knowledge

  • Experience working in restaurant accounting is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

Work Schedule:

  • In-office position, with the flexibility to choose your working days (approximately 3 days per week).
